What is TDS?

TDS means that the person who is responsible for making payments to you will deduct tax before paying you the balance amount. In this manner, tax is deducted at the source of income itself. On deducting the tax, the amount has to be paid by the person deducting into the government’s account within the stated time period and they will issue you a TDS certificate.
